CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS AT AUBURN AND TURNER.

The inscriptions given below were copied in 1910, and include all the inscriptions extant at that time in the three cemeteries visited. In each of these cemeteries, however, were several rough, unlettered stones, indicating graves.

From an old cemetery in Turner, Me.
[This cemetery is situated at the foot of Dillingham Hill, which was formerly a part of Turner, later belonged to Minot, and is now in Auburn, Me. The cemetery is on the north side of the hill, in the town of Turner, just across the line from Auburn. It is near the village of North Auburn. Most of the people buried in this cemetery lived on Dillingham Hill. No interments are now made here, and several bodies have been removed to the new cemetery at North Auburn.]

Amasa Tribou, died June 22, 1842, aged 84 years.

[This cemetery is situated on the road leading from North Auburn over Dillingham Hill to Turner. No interments are now made here, and several bodies have been removed to the new cemetery at North Auburn.]

*According to an entry in Rev. Jonathan Scott's Record of Marriages, published in The Mayflower Descendant, vol. 10, p. 84, Mr. Wiswall Seabury and Miss Nabby Bradbury, both of the town of Poland, were married 29 Aug. 1797. Rev. Jonathan Scott was minister in that part of Poland, Me., which became in 1802 the town of Minot.—Editor.
