1790 Census: Plantation No. 22, West of Machias, Washington County

Incorporated in 1809 as Jonesborough. Jonesport was set off in 1832. Land was set off to Columbia and Machias in 1838, and the town of Roque Bluffs was set off in 1891. Beals was set off from Jonesport and incorporated in 1925.
